Three more signings to add to the ranks!!
December 9, 2009Raunds Band are very pleased to announce three new signings. Euphonium player Sarah Lenton, trombonist Warren Middleton and local lad Ben Rodgers on front row cornet all join the band.
Great for Us!
December 9, 2009On Sarah's appointment MD, Robin Norman said: "It is great for us that a player of Sarah's quality has agreed to take the solo euphonium seat. We welcome her to the ranks and look forward to her input in rehearsals, concerts and, of course, our assault on the Midlands Area First Section in March." Sarah added: "After helping Raunds out with a couple of concerts recently I have been really impressed with the work ethic, friendship and general atmosphere around the band."
Calling all Bass Players!!
December 2, 2009Raunds Band would love to hear from any Bass Players who are looking to join a friendly 1st Section Brass Band. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays (and every other Thursday) at the Raunds Conservative Club from 8pm-10pm. All other players welcome.
Signings of New Players
December 2, 2009Raunds Band are delighted to announce that the following players have joined us: Bob Wallinger on Horn, Paul Shafi on Soprano, Fiona Harley on Horn and Graeme Littleford on horn. This is a great boost for the Band and are very happy to have them on board!
With more players in the pipeline, this is shaping up to be a very exciting time for the Band!
New Musical Director Announced

It is with great pleasure to announce that Raunds Band have appointed Robin Norman as their new Musical Director. Raunds are greatly looking forward to working with Robin and the challenges ahead competing at the Midlands 1st Section area contest in March 2010! Welcome to our New Website

We have recently changed our hosting provider, so in the coming weeks, new features will be appearing making the site more dynamic, user friendly, and of course more up to date! November 10, 2009One year ago, during an evening in the pub after a concert, Sam and Lynda were sitting in their band uniform when a young man came over to them and asked "Do you play in a Brass Band?". From then on, Mark has been a member of our front row cornet section and has shown much committment. He is also responsible for the Raunds Wesbite getting back up and running!! Mark is now returning to University in York, and the Raunds Band would like to thank him for his tremendous hard work over the last year. Good luck with your studies and you are always welcome back whenever you like!!
