What a fantastic weekend! On Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July, Raunds Temperance Band had a brilliant couple of days at the annual Hollowell Steam and Heavy Horse Show. This event is always a highlight of our summer calendar, and this year didn't disappoint. Across both days, the band performed three full one-hour sets each day, and the audience were treated to a diverse mix of music drawn from our current concert repertoire, ensuring there was a little something for everyone

The Cornet section gets even stronger as we welcome Charlie to the band Charlie started playing the trumpet at the age of seven before moving on to the cornet. He progressed through NMPAT, culminating in his final year as Principal Cornet of the County Youth Brass Band. During his time with the band, he toured internationally, performing in both Germany and the Czech Republic. Charlie joins us from Olney Brass, where he played for 4 years. On Saturday 27 June we had wonderful sunny afternoon at Kettering Town Council's Armed Forces Day! We were honoured to be part this special event celebrating and thanking the military community, while recognising the service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces personnel, veterans and their families. A huge thank you to everyone who came along to listen, to the council for inviting us. It was a privilege to perform and be part of such a meaningful occasion.

We're thrilled that Oscar has joined our horn section. Oscar started playing the cornet at the age of 8 before switching to the tenor horn, which he quickly developed a passion for. He currently plays with Youth Brass 2000 and the Northamptonshire County Youth Brass Band, and he particularly enjoys performing as part of ensembles. A highlight of his playing career so far has been performing at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Gala Concert at the National Brass Band Champi
