What a fantastic weekend! On Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July, Raunds Temperance Band had a brilliant couple of days at the annual Hollowell Steam and Heavy Horse Show.
This event is always a highlight of our summer calendar, and this year didn't disappoint. Across both days, the band performed three full one-hour sets each day, and the audience were treated to a diverse mix of music drawn from our current concert repertoire, ensuring there was a little something for everyone to enjoy.
The brilliant thing about Hollowell is the atmosphere, and our scheduled breaks gave everyone plenty of time to wind down and enjoy the show.
Between sets, band members could be found:
Catching up and socialising with friends and supporters.
Sampling the excellent local food stalls and enjoying a well-earned pint.
Taking in the sights of the show, including the heavy horse parade.
To top off an already memorable weekend, we were treated to a flypast by the iconic Dakota aircraft proudly wearing the striking colours of the South East Asia Command (SEAC). The aircraft pays tribute to an important, yet often overlooked, chapter of World War II history.
A massive thank you to the organisers of the Hollowell Steam and Heavy Horse Show for having us, and to everyone who stopped by, grabbed a drink, and listened to our sets. Your support makes these weekend marathons incredibly rewarding.
Keep an eye on our website and social media pages to see where we will be popping up next this summer!
