We're thrilled that Oscar has joined our horn section. Oscar started playing the cornet at the age of 8 before switching to the tenor horn, which he quickly developed a passion for. He currently plays with Youth Brass 2000 and the Northamptonshire County Youth Brass Band, and he particularly enjoys performing as part of ensembles. On Saturday, Raunds Temperance Band travelled to Bedworth Civic Hall to compete in the Midlands Area First Section contest. Drawn to play sixth, the band took to the stage to perform Andrew Wainwright’s Variations on ‘Was Lebet’. After a strong performance, we were absolutely delighted to be awarded 2nd place – our second consecutive year finishing as runners-up at the contest.
